While you are safe at home with your children, here are some other activities you can do.
One of the best things your child can do is, simply, READ! Have your child read at least 20 minutes each day.
Practice sight words:
First, have them build the word with magnetic letters, play-doh, legos, uncooked pasta, etc. Practice saying the word and spelling the word out loud as they build it.
Then, have them write the word multiple times. (pencil, dry erase marker, crayons, watercolor, etc.)
Last, have them use the word correctly in a sentence and write the sentence.
Bonus* Find sight words in a story that you read with your child.
*First Grade Sight Words:
Fry's First Hundred List Three: will, up, other, about, out, many, then, them, these, so, some, her, would, make, like, him, into, time, has, look, two, more, write, go, see
Fry's First Hundred List Four: number, no, way, could, people, my, than, first, water, been, called, who, oil, sit, now, find, long, down, day, did, get, come, made, may, part
Fry's Second Hundred List One: over, knew, sound, take, only, little, work, know, place, years, live, me, back, give, most, very, after, things, our, just, name, good, sentence, man, think
Fry's Second Hundred List Two: say, great, where, help, through, much, before, line, right, too, means, old, any, same, tell, boy, follow, came, want, show, also, around, form, three, small

Practice numbers through 120:
Work with your child using a chart of numbers to 120. Practice writing numbers correctly from 100-120. You can cut up a chart into sections and use it as a puzzle (they love this!). State a number and have your child write the following five consecutive numbers and/or the previous five consecutive numbers. He or she can practice skip counting by 2's, 5's, or 10's. Also, it is great practice to count backwards from 20 to 1.

https://kes.rcschools.net/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=533830&type=d&pREC_ID=1045960
You can use the program iReady at home with your child as a resource for reading and math if you have internet access. Our weekly goal is 45 minutes of iReady reading and math. The students usually play a game if they have passed two lessons with 80% or better.
The site might ask for the email address, have your child put in their username and attach @student.rcschools.net and their password.
Username Example: cparker000@student.rcschools.net
Their password is their lunch number.
